I n our body the sugar level is controlled by insulin a harmone secreted by pancreas an organ present below our stomach..pancreas look like a leaf.it secretes insulin,glucagon and somatostatin harmones of which insulin harmone decreases blood glucose level whereas glucagon harmone increases blood glucose level and somatostatin is a growth inhibiting harmone.the people who have diabetis are due to pancreas improper secretion insulin harmone because of which blood glucose level increases hence they are given insulin from outside.
